Children's Ministry

Welcome to our Koastside Kids Ministry!

Children are one of our core ministries at Coastside Church!

We desire to create a safe environment for your children to learn Biblical values and grow closer to God. We would love to have new Christian Servants join our team of teachers, Klub leaders, nursery volunteers, aides to various classes, toy and nursery cleaning, snack makers and more!

Please take note of our WELL CHILD POLICY that applies to all our children's venues -- it is posted in the nursery and all the children's classrooms.

Nursery 8:50 am –12:10 pm

For Newborns through 4 years old. (we hope to have a new, preschool-age class by Fall)

Our nursery is a loving and safe place to leave your baby or toddler. It is located in the building between our worship center and the gym.

When you arrive in the nursery please take a pager and sign your child in. Special instructions can be noted on the sign in form.

We recommend that parents leave a diaper bag (with your child’s name and necessary supplies.)

Please also send snacks and drinks for your child!

Kids Konnection 9:00 am – 10:20 am

This is our main teaching time for age 4 through 5^th grade. PROMOTION SUNDAY WILL BE JUNE 6TH -- 5th graders will move on into the Youth Group!

Bring your child for a time of great Bible teaching with caring teachers, hands-on activities, and fun with children their own age. BEGINNING JUNE 6TH CHILDREN WILL JOIN US IN THE WORSHIP SERVICE AT 9:00 AM AND THEN BE DISMISSED TO THEIR CLASSES

Our current classes:

age 4 - 1st Grade Room #6 (temporarily for age 4 through 1st grade)

2nd Grade Room #7 (often joins the class in room 6 for part of the hour)

3rd - 5th Grade Gym building – classroom back corner near the soccer fields

Please be prompt in picking up your child at 10:20 or 5 minutes after service is dismissed.

Information on kiddie keepers is noted below and is required for children age 3 through 3rd grade

Kids Klub & Kids Klub Zoo @11:35 am – 12:10 pm

This is a time during our 2^nd Service of play & learning, and may include Bible story, worship, games, crafts and other fun, relational activities.

KIDS KLUB ZOO - Age 2 ½ - Kindergarten -- in Room #5

KIDS KLUB - 1^st through 5^th grade in the Gym-- NOTE: Children in Klub join us in the worship service then be dismissed to the gym during the service!

Kiddie Keepers are required for children age 3 through 3rd grade -- please see info below......

Other Information about Koastside Kids

Safety

We operate our children’s program under Safe Place guidelines. This means:

· We take your child’s safety very seriously.

· Specific training for all our teachers and aides.

· Every volunteer receives a Background Check.

· We have a Hall Monitor who walks the campus, during services.

· All adults and teens working with children have official ID tags.

· All children will only be released to the adult who checks them in by using

“Kiddie-Keeper” security tags. Every child receives a tag when checking in.

*4^th and 5^th Graders may check themselves in and out with adult permission.

· Pagers are available for parents of nursery aged children.

· Every classroom has a walkie-talkie connected to other leaders in the church.

Dismissal, Sign In and Pick Up

We leave the option of keeping your children in the worship service with you for part, or all of the service. We ask that you be sensitive to those worshipping around you. We provide coloring materials and books on the back table that you are free to pick up as you enter the Worship Center.

When bringing your child to class, please sign each child in on the appropriate sheet, put in the time, and your initials, then do the same as you sign them out! Nursery parents can take a pager, if they would like. All children Preschool through *5^th grade will receive a “Kiddie-Keeper” tag to identify who belongs to whom at pick-up time. Class teachers will assist you. *4^th and 5^th Graders may check themselves in and out with adult permission

Please be prompt in picking up your children at the end of the service, within 5 minutes if possible, so our volunteers can clean up and get their own children!

Vacation Bible School -- July 12 - 16, 2010 !!

This is an awesome week of games, crafts, Bible lessons and much, much more! Save the dates and bring your children entering Kindergarten to entering 5th grade in the fall, plus your neightborhood children!

This year's VBS will be held on the 12th of July-16th of July, from 9am-12:30pm and open registration will be in May. This year's theme is : EGYPT- Joseph's Journey from Prison to Palace. Here's the link: http://egypt.group.com/ -- REGISTRATION will open for Coastside Church May 2nd and to the community at large May 23rd -- Cost this year will be $35 per child, with a family-max of $90.
